FAQs
Sustainability and Design
What makes Future Property Group Eco Lodges different from traditional cabins?
Our Eco Lodges follow Nature Positive Design and the Living Building Challenge framework. They don’t just reduce harm — they restore ecosystems, generate oxygen, improve air quality and enhance wellbeing for people and communities.
How do you determine the best initiatives for me?
We conduct a full energy consumption audit of your property after consultation. This tailored report highlights the most effective options, their cost-benefit and payback periods — giving you clarity and confidence.
What is a prefabricated Eco Lodge?
A prefabricated Eco Lodge is precision-built in a controlled factory environment, then transported and assembled on-site. This process reduces cost, waste and construction timelines while ensuring consistent quality.
What is the Living Building Challenge?
The Living Building Challenge is the world’s most ambitious sustainability standard. It requires buildings to generate more energy than they consume, harvest their own water, use safe materials and contribute positively to their ecosystems.
Can your Eco Lodges be fully off-grid?
Yes. With integrated solar panels, batteries, water tanks and smart systems, our lodges can operate independently from the grid - offering freedom, resilience and sustainability.
How much carbon do Eco Lodges absorb?
Each Eco Lodge absorbs approximately 2.3 kg of CO₂ per square metre per year, actively contributing to a healthier atmosphere.
Do biosolar roofs require much maintenance?
No. Biosolar roofs are designed to be low-maintenance and climate-resilient, requiring just 2–4 visits per year for upkeep.
How much water does the green wall use?
Our green walls use a highly efficient irrigation system, consuming only 1.8–2 litres per square metre per day, while avoiding water waste.
Products and Customisation
Do you sell individual Eco Lodges?
Our focus is on community-scale projects, but we are open to discussing opportunities for individual lodges depending on requirements.
What sizes are available?
We currently offer one-bedroom and two-bedroom models. Thanks to modular flat-pack delivery, they can be installed even on hard-to-reach sites.
Can I customise my Eco Lodge design?
Yes. While our lodges come in one- and two-bedroom layouts, you can customise finishes, layouts and external features to suit your vision.
Can I retrofit my existing property to be more sustainable?
Yes. We recommend starting with an operational cost study to identify the most effective retrofit measures for your property.
Construction and Delivery
How long does the process take from start to finish?
Most projects are completed within three months of contract, subject to council approvals. Prefabrication speeds up delivery while reducing disruption.
Do I need council approval?
In most cases, yes. Our team works with you to manage the approval process and ensure compliance.
How are Eco Lodges transported?
Depending on the site, they are delivered as complete modules or as flat-pack components for assembly on location.
How durable are Eco Lodges?
They are engineered to withstand extreme Australian conditions - sun, wind, fire, water and shifting land. Built to last, they provide resilience and peace of mind.
